Long time!

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 29, 2007, 11:00 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Audioslave - Show me how to live
  • Reading: Technical manuals :/
  • Eating: Chowmein + chilly chicken
  • Drinking: Water
I've been busy the last few months... Loads of work at office... And then loads of traveling... first from office... recruitment and blah... then had to make trips home... then had some dental work to be done, so traveling again... new responsibilities at office... so add a coupla more dozen meetings to my calender... Bleh!

A deviant meet has been long due... I'm yet to introduce the new members... More journals should have been up... Basically a long list...

B'loreans has been idle for quite sometime now, and the way things are going at work, I don't think I will be able to devote much time to the group :( I need a volunteer who can dedicate some of his/her time towards keeping this group alive

Finally, I've got a compilation of the bangaloreans devmeet ready, thanks to the efforts of ~pulsetemple and ~jaggu81. Check it out here -> [link] and there's more photos at [link]

Lalbagh
The Lalbagh activity saw only three deviants turn up; ~pulsetemple, ~jaggu81 and ~ajayverghese Since it had rained the night before, it was excellent weather at Lalbagh. The place was surprisingly crowded for 7am on a Sunday! Apparently the park is a favorite haunt for joggers and yoga enthusiasts. There was a classical music concert going on, so you could hear the music throughout the park. We spent a good 1.5hrs at the park enjoying the scenery and snapping up pictures

After Lalbagh, we rushed to Forum. Breakfast was at Sri Krishna Sagar located just opposite the mall.

Movie and lunch
=RomaV and ~lovetodeviate joined in for the movie. X-Men was a visual treat, some really awesome FX. Dunno why, but the movie kept reminding me of 'The Exorcist' :D Post movie, we had some delicious rum cake baked by ~lovetodeviate The meet was wrapped up with lunch at Pizza Hut and some 'book browsing' at Landmark...

Unfortunately, the turnout for the meet was much lower than expected :(

Going forward, I was thinking of planning a long distance trip by bike - a one day affair within around 60 to 100 kms of Bangalore. More details later...

Bangaloreans daMeet - 4th June 06

The Lalbagh garden has multiple entrances. We will be meeting up at the KH Road (Double road) entrance. I've uploaded a map here -> [link]

Also, X-Men seems to be the popular choice for the movie. So, those of you who are interested in joining in for the movie, but have not yet replied; you've got time till this evening to let me know...

Post Lalbagh (and) breakfast, we should be mostly hanging around somewhere close to the Forum Mall at Koramangala, so for those of you who would like to join up for coffee or for lunch (the X-Men show is at 11:00am, and we should be out by 1pm or so) ...

After talking to a few bangaloreans, I've decided on the following suggestions for the venue and movie:

June 4th, Sunday
7:00am - Meet up at Lalbagh for a walk in the gardens and a photography tour
10:00am - Leave Lalbagh for breakfast and coffee and general gossip
12:30pm - Grab lunch (depends on the movie plans...)

For the movie, we've got the following options at PVR:
Fanaa - 1100hrs
Pink Panther - 1315hrs
X-Men - 1100hrs

Now, I'll need to know your opinions for the choice of movie! I'll advance book the tickets for the movie on friday evening.

I hope that many of you can make it for the early morning walk at Lalbagh. It will be good fun. For those who cannot make it that early, you are still welcome and can drop by whenever! Just gimme a call, and I'll update you with the location where we are.

Cheers!
